Adapted by faculty member Nicholas Lawson. When Thou Wakest is a once-in-a-lifetime mash-up of four readily read Shakespearian plays. The play focuses on the universal themes and relationships in Shakespeare’s time and ours. Lawson has woven an innovative narrative using text and storylines from Macbeth, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Much Ado About Nothing, and Romeo & Juliet. When Thou Wakest is the perfect caricature of reality, offering the audience a theatrical reflection of their own lives.

Directed by Kathleen McDowell. In the overwhelming quiet of the woods, six runaways from city life embark on a silent retreat. As these strangers confront internal demons both profound and absurd, their vows of silence collide with the achingly human need to connect.
